Lavertezzo / 11.10.17

Aika erilaiset maisemat odottivat Lavertezzossa kuin vuorilla oli odottanut sitä edeltävänä päivänä. Junamatkalla kohti italiankielistä aluetta huomasin jo maisemien muuttuvan ja auringon paistavan yhä enemmän etelään mentäessä. Kolme junaa, yksi bussimatka ja olin perillä pikkuriikkisessä Lavertezzon kylässä, kuten moni muukin turisti.

Tänä vuonna Lazertezzo on räjähtänyt täysin käsistä mitä turistimääriin tulee. Viraaliksi menneen videon vuoksi kesän aikana tuhannet uteliaat vierailijat lähtivät katsomaan Lavertezzon kristallin kirkasta vettä virtaavaa jokea - uimaan, hyppimään vanhalta sillalta veteen ja valokuvaamaan. Toivoin, että koska olin kylässä vierailulla vasta nyt lokakuussa, olisi turisteja olematon määrä. Vaan kyllä niitä riitti vielä riesaksi asti, ja muutama rohkea uimarikin löytyi! Olihan se uskomattoman kaunis paikka. Vesi oli kirkkainta mitä olen koskaan nähnyt ja niin sievän sinisen väristä. Kylä oli täynnä ikivänhoja kivisiä rakennuksia ja joen yli menevä vanha silta on alkujaan 1800-luvulta. Hyvin historiallinen fiilis tuli kyllä tästä kohteesta, ja oli niin hassua kuulla paikallisten puhuvan italiaa saksan sijaan. Jos edellisenä päivänä olin palellut lumisilla vuorilla niin tänään ei siitä ollut huolta, Lavertezzossa lämpöä oli jopaa parikymmentä astetta. Kyllä kelpasi!

Quite a different scenery was waiting for me at Lavertezzo when compared to my previous day up in the mountains. O the train journey towards this italian speaking area I noticed a huge change in landscape, and the sun seemed to be shining brighter the more south we traveled. Three trains, one bus and I finally reached the tiny village of Lavertezzo, and so had many other tourists too....

This year the amount of tourists visiting Lazertezzo absolutely exploded. All because of one viral video, this summer thousands of people wanted to see the crystal clear water of the river running through this historic village. To swim, jump off the bridge into the water and take pictures. I was hoping that I wouldn't bump into any tourists as I was visiting the town in October, but I did. Some even brave enough to jump in for a swim, crazy people!  I must admit, it was an incredible sight, the deep blue water was the clearest I've ever seen. The houses of the town were mostly built out of stone and the bridge crossing the river was built in the 17th century. So you did get a very historic vibe walking along the cobbled roads. It was also funny hearing the locals speak Italian with each other, instead of the typical German. And if I had been freezing and shivering the day before, there was no chance of that happening in Lavertezzo as the temperatures reached +20 degrees!
